Geriatric Animator Course

CMIG runs Six-Months Professional Geriatric Animator Course this certificate course in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence(NISD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The main aim of the course is to develop a core-group of dedicated Geriatric Care personnel for the welfare of the older persons and to generate a skilled manpower focused on intervention in family and community settings.

The course includes classroom lectures, internal assessment, assignments, practicals,placements, fieldwork, group activities, presentation/demonstrations, visits and term project.

CMIG has already completed 8 such Geriatric Animator Course and is likely to continue this course in the coming years.

There is no course fee. After the successful completion of the course, candidates receive certificates from the concerned Ministry. Many of the geriatric Animators are now associated with relevant NGOs and Old Age Homes as well as institutions that are working in the field of Age-Care.

This is a very popular program and there is a strong demand for replication.
