Geriatric Counselling Greater and increasing proportion of sixty plus people in the population has posed some important social and psychological problems.  Retirement, bereavement, poverty, and lack of useful occupation have always contributed heavily to the causation of social isolation amongst them. In order to cope with the entire physio, psycho, social and behavioural problems faced by the elderly, a special curriculum has been chalked out, which would help the social workers to develop and augment the basic skills in Geriatric Counselling. They can also use the skill as an intervention strategy while dealing with the elderly.
